Page 1 of 2 By Isabel D. Tabadero The LGU Manaoag under the able leadership of the Honorable Mayor NAPOLEON D. SALES, M.D. announced the closure of the controlled open dumpsite located at Barangay Pugaro this town, in preparation for its conversion into a sanitary landfill. Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Officer Edgardo Valdez reported that the construction of the perimeter fence to totally enclose the site has started. The closure will make way for the building of the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and to deter the entry of scavengers, stray animals,and to limit access of people and dump trucks coming in. The new MRF Building will house the Waste Management Office and the equipmentsneeded in the waste segregation and composting process. The following are programs and activities to be undertaken with its specified dates of completion in the implementation of the Closure and Rehabilitation Plan.
